Schifilliti Park will undergo construction of a newly paved walking and biking path

Schifilliti Park will be under construction for the next month as a new pathway is being constructed.
Construction began July 22 on the Schifilliti Park Pathway, a paved walk and bike pathway that will run behind C.P. Smith Elementary School, connecting James Avenue to Gosse Court through the park. Construction is expected to continue through mid-August, according to the Burlington Parks, Recreation and Waterfront Department, reaching substantial completion before the start of the school year Aug. 26. People should expect a brief one-day closure of the park access from James Avenue when new pavement is installed in August. An update will be posted to the city's website and social medias when the schedule is confirmed. The area will remain open during construction. Burlington Parks asks visitors to use caution when traveling through the parts of Schifilliti Park undergoing work and follow all instructions from on-site personnel.
Schifilliti Park is a hub for baseball, softball and little league. It's also home to a 9-hole disc golf course.
