After School and Summer Enrichment Program

Mission – To improve the academic performance of the children we serve and to encourage respect and discipline.



Objectives- 1. Make sure homework is complete and accurate.

  • Assist in other areas as needed.
  • Provide nutritious snacks
  • Expose students to cultural and educational events

Residents Provide Tutorial Assistance

BHA employs residents to tutor children enrolled in the After School and Summer Enrichment Programs. Residents are provided assistance through volunteerism.


BHA Partners with Elon University

BHA partners with Elon University through the Kernodle Cent for Service Learning an dLeaders in Collaborative Service (L.I.N.C.S.) Programs. BHA’s After School Enrichment Program is also a recipient of a literacy grant submitted by Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.


Student are Rewarded for Academic Achievement

Students are recognized and awarded for academic achievement and good behavior. Special guests are present Awards Day Celebrations for the children.

Our After SDvhool Enrichment Programs offers a safe environment and supervised activities Monday through Thursday , which include homework assistance, remedial tutoring, videos, outdoor play, educational games and cultural trips.

Our Summer Enrichment program operates Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Children served are grades k – 12.
